Sex, then tweeting? At least, according to this poll
Looks like tweeting is the new cigarette.
A recent study by Retrevo.com, a consumer electronics shopping site, found that 36 percent of people under the age of 35 like to tweet, update their Facebook status and/or text after sex.
Of those 36 percent, men are twice as likely to share their sexual conquests over social media, while people who own iPhones were three times more likely to do it. Whether you'll get anymore action after this display should be the subject of the next study.
I'm trying to imagine the scenario where that's appropriate. I'm still trying. And, nothing. I mean, I'm addicted to all things social media, but I don't think I could defend an action like that.
What's more worrisome is that I see tweets all the time from people who are supposedly in the middle of having sex.
Anyhow, the same study shed some light on some other fascinating facts and figures
DRIVING: srsly, watch where ur going! 40 percent of people under age 35
admit to texting, tweeting and Facebooking while driving, while just 9
percent over 35 admit to it.
ON A DATE: Who are you tweeting on a date? 34 percent of people under
35 are tweeting, texting and Facebooking while 9 percent of people over
35 are doing it.
ON VACATION: Finally! Something that makes sense. 65 percent of people
under 35 are active on social media while vacationing--presumably to
upload and share photos and video. The number drops to 41 percent of
those over 35.
ON AN AVERAGE DAY: Looking at people under the age of 35, 27 percent
said they checked in more than 10 times a day. On Twitter--39 percent
of those under age 35 admitted to tweeting more than 10 times a day.
