Ooo la la! It's the new batch of bachelors!

If you're a serious music fan, then Greg Hammell of Avondale, is your man. The 24-year-old is crazy about music and is a bass player in a funk band. But, be still my heart, he has a secret love for well-written pop songs. His latest addiction is Lady Gaga, but... he still thinks that Selma Hayek is the "hottest woman alive." And how's this for cute: Greg has a pet Shih Tzu named Sam.

Chicago's best neighborhood is... Even though I live in Avondale, Lakeview is far and away the best in my opinion.  Best shops, best atmosphere, hippest feel.  The nightlife in the area isn't really my scene but everything else suits me quite well.

I'd like to date someone who is: Keen on music, intelligent enough to hold good conversation and attractive in that wholly intangible way that I can't help but be attracted to.  I really want to date someone who's as genuine, sincere and passionate about her interests as I am.

Here are what I consider deal-breakers: Close-mindedness in the areas of race, sexual orientation and music and inability to hold intelligent conversation.  

On a lazy Saturday afternoon, you'd find me: On my futon in jeans and a t-shirt watching a movie, reading a book, dinking around on the internet or playing some sports-related video game.

I am passionate about: Music, rock and roll in particular.  Far and away there is nothing that stirs up any more emotion in me than a great album, show, documentary or even article.  I've even got an old school heart tattoo with "Rock & Roll" in a banner over it.  I'm in a band now and in college I participated in marching band, symphonic band, symphony orchestra, two jazz bands, men's chorus and steel drum ensemble.  I also played bass accompaniment for many musicals and other select performances.  In spite of my crazy busy schedule, I loved every minute of it because music is pretty much everything to me.

My favorite animal is... because...: Elephant.  They have such a cool look and demeanor.  Just hangin' out...doin' what they do, occasionally going into a stampeding rage.  What's not to love?

Love Top Chef? Ron Taylor is your man. The 31-year-old from Auburn/Gresham is a cook at a five-star hotel who runs his own personal catering business. He's looking for a funny, beautiful, ambitious, independent woman... and says that Kim Kardashian would make his list. This genuine gentleman says that the best date he's ever been on "was real simple. I met this young lady for ice cream, went for a walk along the lakefront. I just remember gazing into her eyes and having a great conversation." Who could ask for a better date than that?

My favorite animal: Bears not because they're my favorite sports team, but they are lovable and don't mess with anyone, yet if you cross them they will get grizzly with you! lol

Chicago's best neighborhood is: Although I love the South Side to the fullest, I really like the West Loop.  I just love the loft type living plus great restaurants all around, the meat district, & young & hip.
 
My hobbies are: Cooking, traveling, football, paintball, bowling, surfing the net, writing poetry

Get ready to step out of your comfort zone. Justin Gutknecht has a "zest for life," and would like his partner to share the same. The 26-year-old who works in corporate development is always on the go, exploring what life has to offer. I mean, just look at his picture. Pretty much a bundle of energy, don't you think?

I am passionate about:  Traveling and exploring cities.  I am not talking about typical sightseeing.  I want to investigate the few and far between places.  The type of places you learn about while watching the Discovery Channel.   I visited Iceland this summer and circled the entire island for 9 days.   I plan on invading Japan next summer and twirling around the middle of Shibuya Square.  I am also an expert in planning extended weekend trips across the country. 

My hobbies are:  I like to stay active and constantly seek new outlets.  I am currently training in Wushu, Boxing and other forms of martial arts at Extreme Kung Fu in Rogers Park.  I also enjoy traveling, exploring various neighborhoods on my bicycle, and satisfying my sweet tooth at delicious brunch spots.

TV show I never miss:  How I Met Your Mother because: 1)  Bob Saget narrates the show, 2)  Neil Patrick Harris is pure genius in his role, 3)  The show reminds me of old friends who currently live in NYC and 4) I can relate to Ted Mosby.  I am still looking for my own "MacLaren's" in Chicago. 

This celebrity would make my list: Emmanuelle Chriqui.  I am infatuated with Canadians who have diverse ethnic backgrounds. 

If MTV cribs came to my apartment, they'd say:  Very eccentric.  My Uncle owned an antique store so I have antique paintings mixed with modern art (aka funding my best friend's apartment in Brooklyn as he pursues artistic endeavors). 

My favorite animal:  Sea Monkeys.  I was never allowed to have furry pets growing up, so my parents gave me Sea Monkeys.  I would spend hours looking in the aquarium with a magnifying glass, only to walk away disappointed.  Despite this experience scarring me for life,20these animals will always have a place in my heart.
