Mary Friday wrote to "Going Public" to thank another rider for helping her on the train. Her letter continues after the jump.
"Although, I do not currently have any brilliant ideas on how the CTA can save money, I was hoping that you can assist me in 'thanking' a thoughtful CTA rider.
Yesterday on a northbound Purple Line train around 6 p.m., I fainted on the train. I remembered wanting to get off as soon as possible and Armitage was the next stop. The next thing I knew I was laying down on the floor of the 'L' (for a germ-a-phobe, this was more traumatizing than the actual fall) and we were at Fullerton.
A 20something girl who was sitting near where I was standing was assisting me after the fall. She called for assistance, sat me up and escorted me off the train, where we were met by a CTA crew worker. ...

After her fall, CTA rider offers thanks
He asked if I wanted medical attention, which was declined and said he
would call someone to come to the platform to walk me down. We waited a
few minutes and then, this young woman walked me down when no one
immediately came up to help.
We were met on the stairs by a CTA worker, but we told her we were fine and that I had a ride coming. Amidst the confusion I was only briefly able to catch my female helpers first name, so if you could possible print a small 'thank you to northbound Purple/Brown Line rider Holly' for being so thoughtful and caring I would be grateful."
