Morning, moon lovers! Today is the 40th anniversary of day that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on that big wheel of cheese in the sky. And late Monday morning, astronauts David Wolf and Thomas Marshburn ventured out to hook spare parts to the international space station, The Associated Press reports.
RedEye is marking the occasion by rounding up all the pop culture we can think of related to the moon. Help us out by adding suggestings to the comments section.
1. "Man on the Moon," R.E.M. and Bruce Springsteen.

Thanks, Steph. We would be doing the moon a disservice if we didn't!

Whoa! There's a total lack of CCR love in here! Mark me down for "Bad Moon Rising." Makes me want to kick my heels and boogie all over the place.
Also worthy of a nomination: The Doors' "Moonlight Drive," Sufjan Stevens' "First Full Moon," the 2009 motion picture "Moon" and I'll even throw in the "Deep Space Homer" episode of The Simpsons due to the guest appearance from Buzz Aldrin.
