We may not have been lucky enough to get tickets to the memorial service in L.A. But that doesn't mean that Michael Jackson didn't sing, dance and moonwalk into our hearts. Here in Chicago, RedEye is hosting our very own virtual memorial. At noon today in the Windy City, we will live broadcast simultaneously with the memorial service. The main event: all of your memories.
All your tributes will live on, on in this page. Show us that Chicago loved Michael, too. We'll accept anything. Photos, videos, YouTube clips, stories, audio clips. Here's how you can submit your tributes to the live broadcast.
Comment/Live Chat: In the widget below, type your comment and hit 'send.'

Video/Audio: Upload it to the provider of your choice (YouTube.com, 12seconds.tv, etc.) and send us the link.
If possible, please include your name and neighborhood.
Thank you for leaving your tributes. We will be printing some of your thoughts in tomorrow's RedEye.

Here's the irony, "Off The Wall" was Michael Jackson at the peak of his sanity. Gorgeous afro, beautiful nose, saintly voice, with dance moves like the wand of a maestro.
"Bad" was exactly that...BAD. Skin too white, nose too small, cleft in his chin, as if no one in his life had the ear of Michael. He was tone deaf to reality.
Ultimately, as the events of the past few weeks have revealed, Michael Jackson has proven to be "A Smooth Criminal." He's being celebrated like he did nothing wrong.
We celebrate all the wrong things: vanity, self-loathing, criminal insanity masquerading as artistic eccentricity. At best, Michael Jackson made excellent karaoke music.

I can't say I agree with a lot of what you've said, Joey, but I think it is an interesting point that there will be debate in the days following Michael Jackson's memorial as to who will be remembered--the controversial guy we've come to know in the past few years or the musical genius from Gary.
I heard a talking head this morning say something I thought was telling: Today a human being is gone, and ultimately you want to remember anyone for the good they've done, not their missteps. I'm not saying MJ was or wasn't guilty of anything, I'm just saying that today people can acknowledge the indisputable fact that he touched a lot of people with his art.
Let's talk about the other stuff another day.

Jim, I like your comment a lot. I agree. Today, we honor and remember him for all the good. If people want to debate the rest another day, fine (though I want no part in it).
I really don't get the whole obsession about Michael Jackson to be honest. I think all the "bad" is way over-covered by the media and we need to move on to more pressing and important issues in the world. That's not to forget the legacy of Michael and the good that he did, but that's to say, hey, let's also move on.

why can't fans be able to mourn for him? He was, is and will forever be the Greatest Entertainer of All Time. There is death and bad things in the world all the time. Tell me of all the news stations covering the plight in Darfur before his death? Were we bombarded with pleas to save the world on a daily bases before all this? No. Because we are taking time to send this man to his final resting place does not stop the world from turning and it does not mean more "pressing issues" would have been solved in these several days it's taking to lay him to rest and celebrate his life. Be real.

That seems to be an unhealthy trend in America, "Let's talk about the other stuff another day." But we never do. Do we?
Which is why AIG got bonuses instead of prison cells. Which is why Al Gore got mocked as "Eco Man." Which is why Prop 8 passed in California.
Let's talk about all of it NOW. Stop pretending like we're going to talk about the bad stuff tomorrow. We won't. We never have. I'm not interested in moonwalking away from the truth.
I'm a grown up, damn it. I don't live in Neverland. No one does. No one should be allowed to, damn it. And if they do, they certainly do NOT deserve the send-off of a saint.

A lot of people remember his more recent material which recently received great airplay but how about some gems from his earlier material? Remember "I Can't Help It", "Wherever You Are" & "Blame It On the Boogie" which are still radiant, soulful and innocent? Brings back great memories.
You know, his death didn't fully hit me until watching the memorial. I suppose I was still in denial up till that point...hoping somehow that TMZ.com got it all wrong. It's something to see the appreciation he's getting now.
One video I made the day he died... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJJeAhTYMyg
The other I made to cheer up Michael Jackson fans who still mourn. I'm offering a Charlie Chaplin "Smile" if you will with a touch of Chris Tucker to this pick-me-upper video for the fans to enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BQb2mIDuVI
