Thirsty! The Premier Improv Drinking Party

As I mentioned previously, I love theatre; this love absolutely extends to improv comedy (if you haven't seen Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, you haven't really experienced Chicago improv, and Baby Wants Candy is phenomenal, if only for its nature).  I come to you today, however, with a very particular show that you absolutely must go and see.
Thirsty! The Premier Improv Drinking Party absolutely stands up to its name.  You may be asking, "But, Ian, what does 'Premier Improv Drinking Party' entail, exactly?"  That's a good question.  Think Whose Line Is It Anyway, except everybody involved is drinking, and you've come relatively close to the format that Thirsty! takes.

Several of their improv games have built-in points at which the audience is meant to take a sip, but there are also in-between segments where an audience member is prompted to draw a card, which corresponds to various consequences (these in-between segments are, in fact, called Consequences!); these may involve anything from taking a mystery shot to answering bar trivia (the prize being a shot of whatever the host is having).

Eventually, the show ends with the (now considerably less sober) comedians performing a rap battle elimination challenge, requiring them to rhyme with words suggested by the audience at the beginning of each round.

All in all, Thirsty! is great fun, and you should see it while it is still here!  That's Saturday nights at 10:30 PM until December 19th; you can find more information and buy tickets at the Apollo Theater website!

Oh, absolutely. Too Much Light is a MUST SEE, but it's also going to be here for pretty much forever (at least we hope so!), whereas Thirsty! only has another month with us! Only 5 shows left!
