Street fests don't generally tend to be the greenest of events in Chicago. All those cups and plates used by vendors, the electricity needed to power the music, and just general non-earth friendliness.

Who knew an album could be recorded sustainably? Chicago's own The Giving Tree Band figured it out.
According to the RedEye's ChiTunes story, the band found a spot in Wisconsin that creates all its energy on-site. They even camped out nearby and biked in every day to avoid driving.
