Dewey Defeats Truman - Nov. 4, 1948

In one of the most famous newspaper covers ever, a Chicago Tribune headline declares New York Gov. Thomas Dewey beat incumbent Harry Truman in the presidential election. In actuality, Truman won and proudly displayed the paper's erroneous declaration. (Chicago Tribune Photo)
