$1 Million Dollar Parking Ticket Lawsuit

A Traffic Management Authority (TMA) supervisor for the City of Chicago wrote a minivan a parking ticket.
TMA employees help direct traffic during rush hour downtown and also during sporting events like Bears, Bulls, Cubs, Sox, etc. They also have authority to write parking tickets.
Turns out the minivan belonged to a cop who claimed they were on duty and asked the TMA supervisor to non suit (throw out) the violation.
TMA refuses. TMA gets handcuffed and arrested. TMA sues the city and the three cops involved for a cool $1 million in federal court.
$50 vs. $1 million, huh?
If it were me, I'd just pay the ticket.
