New Red Light Camera Installed On NW Side
Shooting down Irving Park Road last week, I came across one of Big Brother's evil minions, (actually a friendly tech for Redflex--Chicago's supplier of these infernal devices) installing a new red light camera.
Actually, two red light cameras were being installed, at the intersection of Irving Park & Elston.
One is positioned to catch east bound drivers blowing the red light on Irving Park Rd.
While in most cases, a companion camera is positioned in the
opposite direction, the second camera at this intersection is actually
on Elston pointing to catch south bound red light violators.
Big brother's helper said these new cameras should be live by Tuesday, August 11th.
By my count, this should be Chicago's 158th red light camera intersection.
So, be super, extra careful at the intersection of Irving Park & Elston, and stop on red.

Redflex has a experience on how to get their cameras installed against any opposition. Their record of making loans of undisclosed amounts, and campaign contributions to elected officials, both state and local are documented. The arms of this company reach deep into the federal government. They run the company from, in Reston, Va., Just outside Wash. DC.. They have a contract with homeland security that they need to be close for. Redflex runs streaming videos of every vehicle that passes any camera 24/7 anywhere in the country with or without a violation. And with a push of a button can find where, and when any plate number has passed any camera in the country. Why? Oh they will get the cameras in, and for extra revenue they love to shorten the yellow for added cash.

Did you ever wonder that if RADAR and LIDAR units have to meet certain standards of accuracy and officers are certified on how to use them, what State or Federal standards do the red light ticket cameras have to pass?
Give up?
NONE!
