I'm literally trying not to soil my pants.
The Geek is scheduled to speak at the annual Bughouse Square Debates on Saturday in Washington Square Park about Chicago's "parking meter debacle."
I'm so nervous, I've spent the afternoon desperately trying to find a friend with a prescription for Xanax so I don't have a nervous breakdown before I have to speak tomorrow. So far, no success.
The Bughouse Square Debates is sponsored by the Newberry Library (which is on the north side of Washington Square Park) and runs from 1-4 PM.
Historically, Washington Square Park was a place where orators would pull up a soap box and rant on the issues of the day. These days, the event is a celebration of free speech and for years was hosted by the recently departed Studs Terkel. The nickname "bughouse" was, in the early part of last century, a slang term for mental health facilities.
So, being mentally unstable myself, the name is even more appropriate this year.
The Geek is scheduled to speak about 3:15.
Try not to heckle too much, and I'll try not to suck.
Gotta go, I'm heading over to Walgreen's for a box of Depends for tomorrow.
If anyone has a hookup for Xanax, shoot me an e-mail.

I think you have a misspelling in your headline, PTG. Good luck with the debates tomorrow!
