See Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" in Chicago to benefit Republic's Workers
Moore confronts the financial crisis and the bank bailouts in this new film, at one point trying to make a citizens arrest of AIG executives and asking for America's ten billion dollars back. Certainly provocative stuff, which is no surprise when Michael Moore is making a film.
All the proceeds will benefit the Republic worker's union, which organizes and educates workers to fight back against illegal actions by their employers, such as last December's six-day sit in and the Republic Windows and Doors Plant. You can even buy tickets online.
Here's the movie trailer:
I was there, covering the workers' protest, before the big guys got there. These workers are an inspiring, courageous group - many of them willing to put their future and their family's future on the line because they knew what had happened at their plant was illegal and unjust.
Republic's CEO, Rich Gillman, was found to may be guilty of more than just shorting his workers. He was recently charged with money laundering and felony theft.
The screening is at 8:00 p.m. at the Kerasotes theatre at 2600 North Western Avenue. Admission is a donation to the worker's union fund, either $10 a month or a $20 one time donation.
Can't attend Thursday? You can still donate. Still want to see the movie? Here's a list of upcoming movie showtimes in Chicago.

Gillman has not been found guilty of anything. He was indicted but he has not been found guilty by a jury. You might want to be a bit more clear next time.

Thanks, Martha. I didn't meant to be unclear. I have updated the article per your suggestion.
