Yeah! Wednesday news round up. Things are wild over here at One Story Up. News twice a week? Whoa. Try to keep a hold on your excitement, okay?

But I've got some great stories for you today. A secret cemetery burial ground. Cute puppies in homeless shelters. And, as they say, much, much more!

Take a gander, dear readers:

120 Days
- My buddy and fellow ChicagoNow blogger, Marian Wang, has this amazing piece up about the city's 10 year plan to end homelessness. Crazy fact: 74 percent of shelters they surveyed said they were already at capacity when the plan began in 2003. Also, check out Marian's two other pieces on homelessness.

Can Expanding Food Stamps Jolt the Economy? Uncle Sam is expanding the food stamp program by 13 percent, both to help those struggling during the recession and pump dollars into the economy.

State Welfare Rolls Feel the Impact of Recession - Interesting piece on how the recession is affecting welfare rolls. It's not always in the way you'd think. Also, a state-by-state analysis on the change in welfare stats.

New NYC housing rules may jam dog shelters - New York City's public housing authority recently made a list of dogs you can't have if you live in their housing. This has some pet advocates worried that these kinds of dogs will start appearing more frequently in shelters.

Mystery of Miami construction site cemetery grows - Not really on topic, but a really cool article from the Miami Herald, talking about a mysterious burial ground uncovered where they were trying to build affordable housing. I love mysteries and cemeteries and ghosts (although I am deathly afraid of all three) so I thought you might enjoy this too.

Big story coming today at noon! Keep your eyes peeled and check back later.
