- It's a weekend (well, weekend and early next week) of film, comics and screenprinting, and it kicks off Friday night with the Chicago Art Department's Video Art 101, which explores the medium of video through an art exhibition.
- Saturday, the historic Portage Theater hosts Holiday of Horrors Film Festival. Nothing says "holiday spirit" like gore, terror, and suspense on a big screen. Films include Christmas Evil, Silent Night, Deadly Night, New Years Evil, and Black Santa's Revenge. Lewis Jackson, the director of Christmas Evil, will be there in person. If that's not enough, there will also be vendors, free stuff, and booze.
- If Friday's talk wasn't enough, show up at the Hungry Brain Monday for the 101 Lecture Show, co-hosted by Homeroom and You, Me,Them, Everybody and featuring local artistic talents Jay Ryan and Paul Hornschemeier.
