Like many of you elated pilgrim-devotees, my work-week ends at 3 o'clock on the 25th! So as far as I'm concerned, today is Hump Day! Well...if we're being honest, as far as I'm concerned EVERY day is Hump Day! *rimshot* Thank you, Chicago!
Deck 'Em
Happy Fake-Wednesday!

I'm not prepared, but I guess it's officially the holiday season. Which means...Christmas shows galore! It also means, I can rent A Muppet Christmas Carol without judgment!
I always forget that theatres get a head start when it comes to holiday productions. Most are already up and running! Besides my favorite Chicago classics (A Christmas Carol at Goodman Theatre, The Snow Queen at Victory Gardens, The Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker), I'm trying to branch out this season and see the stuff that's always piqued my interest.
So, I've compiled a brief categorized list to help you decide what to see, if you're anything like me. Doesn't that sound fun?! Of course it does.
Tight harmonies and Christmas music?! Count me in!
The Ten Tenors - Auditorium Theatre
Plaid Tidings - Noble Fool Theatricals
I'm looking for something cheerful and inventive. A modern classic!
The Christmas Schooner - Theatre at the Center
It's A Wonderful Life Radio Play - American Theater Company
Christmas? Blech. I need a drink.
Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer - Hell in a Handbag
The Santaland Diaries - Theatre Wit
There you have it. And if none of the above appeal to you, there are also about a dozen other productions of A Christmas Carol going on all over the city. You're bound to find something you like! And if I left out a seasonal favorite of yours, be sure to tell me about it. Happy Thanksgiving!
