Can We Get Thomas Wortham's Dad To Talk To Brian Floyd's Mom?
The rotten apple doesn't fall far from the diseased tree. Stupid is as stupid does.
Not to be mean - ok, the hell with being PC, I am trying to be mean - but pick and modify your own saying to describe the attitude of Lucille Floyd, whose son Brian died along with Chicago Police officer Tom Wortham IV in a violent shootout. Brian and three of his friends tried to steal the officer's motorcycle before killing him - in front of his father - and being shot at by Wortham's dad.
(The elder Wortham gets a hero's badge if I had anything to do with it.)
Ms. Floyd has said that the four morally bankrupt, black-hearted dudes went out for a night of drinking and that the drinking turned into a game of dare to see who had the balls to rob a person at gunpoint.
She said: "I don't feel like all those guys have to pay for that one mistake. You know, it was all a mistake on everybody's part, including the people that shot and the one's that died. I feel like we need to let it rest and go on with our lives."
She added that because the elder Wortham once was a cop, he should've been able to shoot without killing: "For him to shoot them they way he did, in cold blood ... because being an officer, I feel like he should have had knowledge of how to hit those children without killing them.
Somewhere there's a village missing an idiot.
