An Odd Affinity for Starbucks Mugs

Came here to study from comedy's best in order to bring some cred back to my hometown of Cleveland (Yes, I know I have my work cut out for me)

Courtney and I love collecting these freaking Starbucks city mugs. Our plan is to collect one for every city we visit together. Yes, together. If we don't visit the city together, it doesn't count.

As of now, our collection is relatively small, but we're excited about growing! Cleveland, Chicago, Niagara Falls, and Denver are all we have. We've also been to the Twin Cities, Buffalo, New Jersey and New York City, but things didn't work out quite yet for those.

The Twin Cities were sold out, Buffalo doesn't even have one (ouch, considering the nearby tourist attraction does), and we instead were treated to a different brand of mugs for our New Jersey visit. NYC simply hasn't made the cut, but I suspect it will when we visit again for Easter. To be honest, we do have a Buffalo mug, but I had to get it off Zazzle.com, a custom made one. No cityscape or anything... Just the word "Buffalo." It could be a celebration of the animal, for all people know. But again, I digress (two days in a row!).

I don't know what it is about these freaking mugs, but we really do love them. Our collection is small, but we plan to visit as many cities and purchase as many Starbucks mugs as possible.

Almost like baseball cards, Starbucks has a variety of city mugs to choose from. The latest edition is awesome. I'm currently drinking coffee from the Denver city mug, which prompted me to look up what the Cleveland one looks like. Unfortunately, it does, indeed, look better than the one I currently own. From now on, I think I'm sticking with this city series as opposed to older ones.

Oh, geez. I just saw the Seattle mug and now I really want to go to Seattle.

Dear, World. Start paying me for this crap and Mildly Relevant News, so Courtney and I can get more mugs.

Sorry if that was a painful read for the morning.

Happy Thursday!

Small collection? Gotta disagree with you, there! I don't think I have that many cups in my house, let alone mugs. ;) This entry is featured in today's "Hot on ChicagoNow:"
