Came here to study from comedy's best in order to bring some cred back to my hometown of Cleveland (Yes, I know I have my work cut out for me)

Google Buzz has generated quite the... wait for it... buzz over the past few days. While many have pretended they know how to use it (i.e. treat it like the result of twitter and facebook getting it on), some have simply conceded it's just another way to waste their time, defiantly adding that they won't get sucked in.

In the midst of all the... buzz... stood ONE woman who was willing to ask the question everyone was wondering, but afraid to voice. ONE woman who stood bravely in the face of Google's new procrastination tool, disguised as yet another advance in social media networking mumbo jumbo. That woman is... my mother.
"What the hell is this? - Mom Baur

My mother, who only recently discovered facebook and admitted she was quite perplexed after I facebook chatted her, asked the obvious question on everyone's mind.

I mean, seriously? What the hell is it other than another way to suck our souls out of our collective bodies as we spend even more tireless hours at the computer, updating strangers on our lives? I bet the leftist, Big Brother government is behind it! George Orwell is laughing at us all!!!

While my mother was probably thinking more along the lines of, "God dammit! I just figured out facebook and now there's something else to learn!?" she at least drew an even deeper response out of me, which admittedly, isn't an amazing feat considering I spend most of my time developing new dick and fart jokes for my comedy shorts (Throw!Kick!Punch! - shameless plug!).

Thanks, Mom, for asking the question on everyone's mind. Maybe people will finally ask themselves if they really need to tweet about some mundane event in their lives. Or better yet, maybe they'll ask themselves if they really need to get hooked on yet another-

OMG! brb, I g2g. Just got a new buzz! LMFAO!!!
