The Bald Truth
Can't help but wonder if Jimmy Clausen will arrive at Charlie Weis' farewell press conference in a white stretch Hummer limo.
The Quote
"You are what you are, folks, and right now you're a 6-5 football team. And guess what, that's just not good enough. That's not good enough for you, and it's certainly not gonna be good enough for me." - Charlie Weis, Dec. 13, 2004, at his first Notre Dame press conference.
The Number
6-5: Notre Dame's record in its fifth season under Weis. (He had the same record at this point in 2008, too. But hey, Mr. Decided Schematic Advantage was 2-9 in 2007, so he obviously has the Fighting Irish going in the right direction!)
Bonus Baldness
We interrupt this rant to present the podcast of Yours Baldly's first appearance on WGN's ChicagoNow Radio:
Weis' last stand, Mike's podcast and a Bears prediction

AND HERE! (Yes, so much fun it's in 2 parts!!)
We now return to our regularly scheduled Weis-bashing ...
The Balder Truth
If Charlie has any respect for himself and for his alma mater, he will make the separation of church and coach an easy one for the powers that be in South Bend.
And by powers that be, I am, of course, talking about influential alum$.
The Number II
.573: Notre Dame's winning percentage under Weis after embarrassing home losses to Navy and UConn the last two Saturdays.
The Number III
.583: The winning percentages of Weis' predecessors, Tyrone Willingham and Bob Davie, neither of whom was deemed competent enough to continue as coach.
THE BALDEST TRUTH
Surely, the refusal of Jay Cutler, Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo to chat on camera with Bob Costas - so they could concentrate on preparing for the Eagles - will pay off, right?
(Even if we accept this lame, smacks-of-panic rationale as it pertains to Cutler and Smith, what exactly does a GM do to prepare for a game? Practice wasting first-round draft picks?)
Surely, the Bears can't lose every night game, right?
(Why doesn't the NFL let the Bears play the Browns or Lions at night, my friend?)
Surely, Cutler can't have yet another multiple-interception game, right?
(Why would anyone even suggest such a thing? Just because Philly's D-line figures to eat Bears blockers for supper? Just because the blitz-happy Eagles figure to be in Bears Savior J.C.'s grill all night?)
Eagles 20, Bears 16
