Longman & Eagle opening in January

I'm the nightlife producer for metromix.com. I blog about bar buzz on the Bottle Blond.

The guys behind Empty Bottle sure are busy these days.

Not only have they teamed up with the Beauty Bar's Paul Devitt to turn the former Sonotheque space into the first Chicago Beauty Bar, but they're in knee-deep with construction at the former Winds Cafe address in Logan Square, aiming to open Longman & Eagle by January 15.

Bruce Finkelman remains fairly tight-lipped on the details, but gave us a basic run-down on the concept. "We're doing a modern take on the traditional Chicago inn," he says, adding that includes "restaurant, bar and sleeping options," and will be open till 2 a.m. during the week and 3 a.m. on weekends. He also tells us they've teamed up with Cody Hudson of Struggle, Inc. (you may recognize some of the flyer designs he's done for Sonotheque). Stay tuned in to the Countdown for opening updates.
