Opening Saturday: The Cupcake Gallery

Just when we thought Chicago had reached the legal limit for cute cupcake shops, along comes The Cupcake Gallery. There are two things keeping us from collective eye-rolling right now: First, owner Darius Williams promises some fairly interesting flavors, including Arnold Palmer and cream soda. Second, it's not in Lakeview or Lincoln Park, neighborhoods where cute cupcake shops tend to multiply like Gremlins in a swimming pool. It's in Uptown, just down the street from Truman College and the Wilson Red Line "L" stop, in a patch of the city that has been living without a cute cupcake shop (horrors!) for years.
