Pie in the sky (over Bucktown)

user-pic
OK, I'm a little biased because: 1) I love apple pie; and 2) I live in Bucktown. But the Bucktown Apple Pie contest is pretty cool regardless. Here's how it works: Show up at Holstein Park on Sunday around 2 p.m. Sample entries from 120 amateur pie makers (well, probably not all of them ... but you can try). See if your favorites match up  to the winners selected by the judges, a lineup of chefs that includes Bucktown's very own Michael Taus (Duchamp). Samples cost $3 each. The event also includes a silent auction, a $1,000 cash raffle ($25 per ticket) and live tuens from local acoustic act Tangleweed.
