Soul Vegetarian and Eternity Juice Bar restaurants re-open after passing city inspection
Soul Vegetarian Restaurant and Eternity Juice Bar located at 205 E. 75th St.
Matt Smith, spokesman for the Department of Streets and Sanitation, confirmed that the restaurant has passed city inspection and is open for business. Mayor Daley's Dumpster Task Force is in the bureau of the Department of Streets and Sanitation's rodent control team.
"Our trash cans were open so that made it convenient for any rodents to come from there and come to our facilities," said Ahzahnyah Ben Israel, a maintenance and storage employee at Soul Vegetarian restaurant, to ChicagoNow's Message from Montie blogger. "So we had to secure all of those areas and our door spaces so that that could be prevented."
Soul Vegetarian restaurant is confident that their regular customers and new customers should not be hesitant to come back into the vegetarian restaurant.
"We can assure them that we have done all we can do to maintain and sustain," said Israel. "Come and enjoy what we have to offer. Soul Vegetarian is the finest soul food restaurant this side of the Mediterannean."
Soul Vegetarian's hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Eternity Juice Bar's hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Soul Vegetarian restaurant is located at 205 E. 75th St., and Eternity Juice Bar is located at 203 E. 75th St., on Chicago's south side.
Stable Foods, the producer of Soul Vegetarian's pre-packaged items sold in health food stores, will still proceed with their plans to change Soul Vegetarian pre-packaged foods to Soul Vegan by Feb. 1, 2010.
Soul Vegetarian's pre-packaged food is produced at the Washburne Culinary Institute located at 740 W. 63rd Street and was not involved in Tuesday's temporary shutdown.
