One Cold Night, Two Hot Events

Man, it is bitter outside! No need to be bitter inside, though, because there are a couple of events tonight put on by a couple of my favorite Chicagoans!
Make your first stop Try Something On at cityblue. This event is part of Steve Green's Go Green Management series where unique boutiques invite you into their stores after hours and ply you with free wine and champagne. Stop in at 1444 N Wells from 5:30 to 7:30pm and try cityblue's unique denim apparel and get some holiday shopping done.
Don't drink too much of the bubbly, though, because you'll want to save room to share some Half Acre beer with Gapers Block founder Andrew Huff! The local brewery is providing the beverages for the Gapers Block Holiday Party. They'll be at Black Rock, 3614 N Damen Ave, from 7 to 10pm, right next to the fireplace. I doubt there will be any roasting chestnuts, but if you go to both of these events you might end up a little toasty!
