Molly Horan owes the U.S. Department of Education a hefty sum now that
she has graduated from DePaul University's College of Communication with
a degree in journalism Summa Cum Laude. It turns out highest honors
can't shrink college debt like car insurance rates, so she has boldly
decided to actually become a back-bending and hard-hitting
journalist.... no matter what.
Molly has been published by the Irish American Newspaper as a
corresponding columnist during an internship stint in the National
Parliament of Ireland, contributed to BreakingTweets, both
international and Chicago' Now's niche site, and the DePaulia. She
recently broke a healthcare story that jumped from the back alley of
her blog to the front page of DailyKos.
As a DePaul student, Molly also worked for the university's Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse, while trekking downtown to the Wrigley Building to intern for the public affairs office of the British Consulate-General, and around Chicago for the DePaul Documentary Project.
Her past is a veritable treasury of experience... but what you
probably want to know is if she can be trusted. Not if you abandon
her within arm's reach of a bowl of guacamole; then no, you probably cannot. Where Lincoln Park is concerned, it's a no brainer. Molly Horan was trained in the kind of investigative reporting that brings bullies to their knees and spotlights neighborly superheroes who show us all what's up. There is no stronger citizenship than that in a neighborhood, and the blocks of Lincoln Park are bustling with proof of that.
If your cat gets stuck in a tree, or you are burning to tell Molly
anything else, please, please, send an e-mail or tweet her, @LPNow!
If you really want to get personal, @MollyHoran on Twitter is an excellent public
space to do so :-)
