I am a student journalist at DePaul University and an enthusiastic blogger for Lincoln Park Now. I am interested in community journalism, new media, and volunteering. My number one passion? Writing, of course!

Hey there, Lincoln Park--we're back from our mini blog vacation with some really exciting news...

The Green City Market officially moves to its outdoor, south Lincoln Park location next week! You can find the full schedule of events for the grand opening of Green City Market's 12th season here. It's full of yummy tastings, workshops and demonstrations. Definitely not something you want to miss!

I found this news out from Green City Market's Twitter account, which is an awesome resource for people who want to know more about the market and it's farmers.

I got to thinking: wouldn't it be great to compile a list of must-follow Twitter accounts for the constantly-connected Lincoln Park-er? Yes, it would. So now that list is waiting for you just beyond the "Continue reading..."

Green City Market (@GreenCityMarket)
This Twitter account is the perfect resource for all of the up-to-date happenings at Chicago's most cherished farmer's market. They tweet about upcoming demonstrations and workshops and keep their followers updated about any changes to the market's schedule. They also tweet the occasional twitpic from their farmers, which is a neat way for GCM customers to connect with their farmers.

They have a good relationship with local Lincoln Park businesses, and they interact with their followers regularly.

Lincoln Hall (@LincolnHall)

You can count on Lincoln Hall to bring some hot ticket shows to your neighborhood. I have seen Company of Thieves and Red Sparowes perform here, and neither show disappointed! I must admit that my real enthusiasm for Lincoln Hall's Twitter account revolves around their retweet ticket giveaways. I won 2 tickets to the Red Sparowes show simply by retweeting! To stay connected to Lincoln Park's music scene and potentially win free tickets, this Twitter account is a must.

Chicago Office of Tourism (@explorechicago)

Okay, so this one isn't exactly Lincoln Park specific, but the Chicago Office of Tourism definitely knows all the best things going on in the city. And often enough, those awesome events are taking place right in your own back yard! This account is great because it's super interactive, so if you have any questions about what to do or where to go in the city, you can tweet them to @explorechicago and you'll get a prompt response!

And, not gonna lie, part of the reason that I included @explorechicago on this list is because of that Photo of the Day by Flickr user swanksalot of Johnny McKenna in Lincoln Park:
