OMG: YOU GUYS!!!!
Next Saturday, NHL Star Canadian hockey player and Chicago Blackhawks youngster Brent Seabrook (who was a "pretty high draft pick," a hockey-lusting friend tells me), will be shaking hands at STARFRUIT Cafe (2142 N. Halsted) from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in Lincoln Park.
After the Olympic hockey war between the U.S. and Canada, it's a good time to come shake hands for peace. (Seabrook played for the Canadian team and is likely to become an Olympic Gold Medalist by next Saturday) A native of British Columbia (home province of Vancouver), Seabrook has been pounding pucks in the U.S. for oh, like five years now.
Surely Seabrook will be twinkling in the eyes of fans young and old- taking photos and signing autographs, while Starfruit opens its doors to a less-than-chilled-out crowd.
Billing itself the "premiere frozen Kefir parlor," Starfruit Cafe is pretty hyperlinked up across social media and known as one of those places that makes the finer things "cool." Last month, Starfruit hosted a Yelp! event, and why wouldn't it? It's apparently pretty starry eyed on the customer-review catalogue. Thanks to Facebook, we've learned that DePaul students receive a 10 percent discount. That's pretty sweet, eh?
Bring hand-wipes, though, hockey fans. Last thing anyone needs are sticky palms during a celebrity meet and greet. And no PR stunt would be complete without the chance to win two: free pro-hockey tickets.... where you can see stuff like "ice-punching:"
