Yesterday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled its shortlist of films in the Best Documentary category for the upcoming Oscars. As usual with the Doc category, there were some notable omissions, among them Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story," the rock themed "It Might Get Loud," and the celebrated Mike Tyson film "Tyson." Here are the 15 films to make the cut, final nominees will be unveiled on February 2nd, 2010.

Moore's 15 minutes were up a long time ago. At first, he had a novelty about him that made him fun to watch. Now he is like that obnoxious relative we all have who simply won't leave, no matter how broadly we hint at it.

Michael Moore's film was THE most important film of 2009. He is not obnoxious, he's brave and intelligent. They got it wrong this round. The only film I've liked more than Capitalism: A Love Story was 2012.

I didn't see "Soundtrack for a Revolution," but I'm going to check that out. Number 10's image wouldn't show up. But I had to stop on "Food, Inc." That was an excellent film. I hope "Food, Inc." wins.
