My Emmy Thank You's...

On Saturday night, I won my first two Emmy awards. This was a tremendous honor for a guy who grew up in Schaumburg watching Chicago television. When I was standing up there on the stage at the Park West (who knows what I was saying in that picture) I found myself looking at many of the people I used to watch. Except this time they were looking at me. Weird!

I dedicated my first award to my wife, Jonna, who deserves every bit of it. Working on both "metromix" and WGN News keeps me out at strange hours, it's not a 9 to 5 job. That means I miss a lot of events, and she has nothing but patience and tolerance. Thank you.

I also need to thank a few people at CLTV for believing in me. General Manager Steve Farber saw something to take a chance on when he hired me right out of college. "metromix" producer Matt Knutson always gave advice and helped massage my stories. Photographers/Editors Brian Rich and Marty Nutley are two of the best in the business, always making my pieces look the best they could.

And a HUGE thank you to all of the viewers, readers, Facebook friends and Twitter followers who always turn out to support or lend a voice of reason.

Last, but certainly not least, my parents - who are always watching in support and letting me know when I need a haircut.
