To Z Or Not To Z?

The Cubs wrap up the road portion of their schedule and a pretty good
week of baseball today in San Francisco.  They're 6-1 since Milton
Bradley was suspended for the rest of the season last weekend.  Some
think that's not a coincidence.  Me?  I don't think anyone can say for
sure.  I do know this--when your pitching staff doesn't allow more
than 3 runs a game for 9 in a row, you're going to win more than you
lose and that's what's happened this week.  I think that's the biggest
reason.

On a related note, how many out there still want to see the Cubs trade
Carlos Zambrano?  He was being run out of town by some a few weeks
ago, but I have to give credit to Bruce Miles from the Daily Herald,
who, in the midst of the Z trade talk, pointed out just how good he's
been as a Cub and how everyone would be best served taking a step back
and reconsidering their opinion on him.  I have to say, as erratic as
he can be on the mound with his emotions at times, I want him in this
rotation because he gives the team a great chance to win most times
out.  Did you know the Cubs are 18-9 when Zambrano starts this
season?  How do you replace that?

I think the big Z is the hardest working, most dedicated, caring for the team, of any player I have ever seen. If I owned a team he would be the captain. This year he played through some injuries. Sometimes though I have thought of him as a closer. He would be great

It's Chicago, every time someone has a poor game, they need to be booted out. Just because a couple people mentioned trading him, doesn't mean he was being run out of town. He's a stud, and I'd say most people who have the ability to step back, and make calm, rational decisions, would like him to stick around for years to come.

That being said, NOBODY is untouchable.

Hendry needs to work some G.D. magic this off season. 2009 was hands down his worst year with the organization and he better shape-up. There are multiple players on the Cubs right now with huge contracts and only a handful of these players delivered. I also do not understand how you put a stand-up guy like Reed Johnson in the same clubhouse as professional douchebag Bradley. Come on Hendry, get your stuff together.
