MSNBC.com Reports Quade Has It . . .

Hmmm.

Will Carroll is hearing from sources that Mike Quade is going to have his interim tag removed and will be named the Cubs' next manager.

Triple-A Iowa skipper Ryne Sandberg is going to promoted to the position of Cubs bench coach, according to Carroll, and will probably serve as a kind of successor to Quade. The 53-year-old former third base coach led the Cubs to an impressive 24-13 record down the stretch. Carroll, formerly of Baseball Prospectus, says an official announcement could be made by next week.

We'll keep watching this one.

I have no doubt the DVD I made for @Aisle424 must have sold like hotcakes and swayed the decision. http://bit.ly/9RIk7Z

I know I've been saying "I don't care" for weeks, but now that we (maybe) have a decision, I kinda hate it.

Although, with Sandberg as bench coach, it looks like the Cubs are preparing to scapegoat Qaude for the next two years and then hand the reins over to Ryno.

More like scapegoat him after 2 months when the team lays an egg in April & May.

If the Ricketts really want to win, and take Quade, there will have to be changes in other areas, like coaches, and some players will have to be traded. They can't keep the same lineup and expect a winning team? Right?

They were 24-13! Against some contenders! I think the higher premium pricing will be the variable that completes this winning equation.

Seeing as how I don't think it makes one bit of difference, I'm fine with it. Congrats for Quade finally really breaking in. Sorry it has to be with this shit fucking team, however, which will inevitably end his career.
