Since, once again, there's no real news out there, we get to play"Let's Make Fun of Other Cub Fans" today. Or at least I'll attempt to make fun of them, with a little help from Carrie Muskat's mailbag. First up, Mike H. wants to see more of Gritty McScraphustle-Wallbanger.
I hope someone from the Cubs is reading this. I don't know why any of us haven't thought of it till now. I was going to go on an OPS tirade, but in 97 AB this year, Sam had an OPS of .821. Maybe he is the answer. But Carrie says Lou wants an RBI man, so with his whopping total of two, Sam's probably only in the mix for fourth outfielder.
Have the Cubs considered Fuld to play center field next year? From what I've seen, he's by far the best outfielder of anyone on the roster and he has a great on-base percentage (both in the Majors and Minors). It would seem economically reasonable along with re-signing Reed Johnson. They both generate a lot of energy, something in short supply last year.

There you go. Sam Fuld. Energy. I like it. Problem solved. Start him. It's go time.

its funny that Sam Fuld has become this surreal player, a portion of the fanbase thinks he's the greatest thing on the field and an All-Star outfielder, and then there is the reactionary stance towards the guy, which to me isn't really anti-Sam Fuld, but more anti-Sam Fuld fans
its stopped being about Sam Fuld, and is about these 2 camps of fans

Dear Carrie,
I know this guy named Marcus, he hits the baseball very hard. He is a really great guy. One time he shared his popcorn with me. I think he would be a very good player to have on the Cubs cause he would make everyone be friends with each other. He also likes to waive at fans all the time. He can play 2B or OF. He knows how to win world serieses.

sooo, if you had to pick 1 appetizers for dinner tomorrow, what would it be (aka, what should I make for the dinner I'm going to?)

Squash goes over nicely.
Otherwise, maybe some kind of beef/cheese dip? Just melt the velveta, add some browned hamburger, and some spices, and you're good to go. The recipe on the velveta box is pretty good. It's a nice appetizer.
Or maybe some kind of stuffed mushroom thing?
Otherwise a bag of nachos and some beer goes over pretty well.

Well, its only $500k. Worth a flier, I guess.

I wish someone would take a $500 flier on me.

They lost Dewayne Wise, so I guess that means Jones can be Ozzie's 3rd/4th OF.
