Rainouts blow

Boo for rain that makes me have no baseball:
Zambrano's first game back from his six-game suspension was postponed by rain Thursday night in Atlanta, but he got in enough action before the game to last the rest of the evening. Zambrano now will pitch Friday night in Cincinnati. Ryan Dempster will go Saturday and Randy Wells on Sunday, with Sean Marshall moving to the bullpen. The rained-out game is to be played June 22 in Atlanta, a day off for the Cubs between a home game against Cleveland and a series in Detroit.

"Got enough action before the game?" What the hell is that supposed to mean? Oh, wait . . . "got IN enough action." Nevermind.

Milty finally says something non-controversial:

Bradley said his right calf strain felt much better Thursday, and he hopes to play this weekend against the Reds. "Look forward to getting the whole crew back and just get on a run," Bradley said. "We're still [only four] games out. It's incredible the way we've been playing."

Z is officially completely insane:

Zambrano had another interesting day at the office, despite the fact he didn't get a chance to pitch. It began a few hours before game time when catcher Geovany Soto had a meeting in Piniella's office. Zambrano, of course, had his own meeting with Piniella on Wednesday after he had skipped the team charter to Atlanta without being excused. When Piniella exited the office to get a bat to give Soto some hitting tips, Zambrano began to yell: "Hey, Lou's got a bat. Lou's got a bat." Piniella went back into the office and closed the door. Zambrano continued, telling the media: "Hey, Lou's got a bat. He might beat up Geo. It's going to be big news." A few minutes later, Zambrano was on the field talking to a reporter near the Cubs' dugout when a tractor nearly ran him over. Someone pushed Zambrano out of the way, saving the Cubs from a disabled-list stint for the ages.

Sigh. There's nothing much really out there this morning. Sammy thinks he's a shoo-in for the HOF. Gordo wants McDreamy back. The Braves traded for Nate McLouth, who could have looked pretty good patrolling CF for the Cubs. Yada, yada, yada. I'm out for the weekend, so the rest of the LOHO staff will be here to take y'all on through the weekend. I'll catch you cats at the podcast Sunday night, when I'll be joined by Steve and John from WAIW. Oh, and by the way, if you're wondering what things like 'WAIW' mean, check out the new "LOHO Lingo" section up on the nav bar. Everyone have a great weekend and GO CUBS!

I'm also out for the weekend.

I also read that line as "Zambrano got enough action"

And what did he mean when he was shouting about Lou having a bat???

He meant that Lou was going to use the bat to hit Soto in the kneecaps.

Maybe Z has gone crazy and is hearing voices

As long as the voices tell him how to pitch, I say go for it. It has to be terrifying if you're a batter to see Big Z on the mound screaming about how the Voices in his head are calling for a backdoor slider.
