While an abundance of Chicago lesbians live in Edgewater and Andersonville, lots don't. And frankly, I think I've already seen every lesbian that lives in Edgewater/Andersonville, so I will be doing my darndest to get out to other neighborhoods, both for the sake of coverage and for my own dating potential.
That said, the four cardinal directions will represent the following neighborhoods:
North = Andersonville/Edgewater/Rogers Park
West = Wicker Park/Humboldt Park
East = Lakeview/Boystown
South = Pilsen/Hyde Park
When I discuss an event or the aftermath of an event, I'll tag up so you can track what trends and events go down by neighborhood.
If you have a strong case for another neighborhood, do let me know.
Before I get slammed for not representing the true South Side, here's the disclaimer. There will be a field trip down to the Jeffrey Pub (so sequestered, old, and glorious that there is no website and has a buzzer to get in) in due time. I am also aware that Club Escape has periodic gay nights, and I would enjoy watching the James Brown Roller Girls at the Midnight Rumble as much as the next girl. HOWEVER, until there's more from the true South Side, I cannot build out the compass rose.
