Battle of the trans: FKA vs. Chi City Kings?

Like all good things (periods, utility bills, etc.), FKA comes but once a month.  Real talk though, FKA (Formerly Known As) is arguably one of the best queer dance parties in Chicago.  FKA takes place the first Thursday of the month at Big Chicks.  For three years now, this has been the place to go "for trans men and trans women and their chasers, queers and allies, movers and/or shakers," according to their unofficial Facebook mission statement.

However, it appears that FKA's got some competition this time around.  Also at 9pm (FKA's start time) on January 7th is the first club performance of the Chi City Kings.  They'll be performing at Berlin at 10pm with doors opening at 9.  According to their Facebook page, every group of 4 people gets their own bottle of champagne?!

There are so few events that involve dancing and the trans community that it's a shame that these two could potentially be vying for the same clientele.  Personally, I want to dance with somebody; I want to feel the heat with somebody.  Yeeeeeaaaah, dance with somebody...  so I'll be at FKA.

But if anybody goes to check out the Kings, do give a full report!
