Kyra Kyles

A columnist, reporter and TV correspondent for the RedEye who believes pop culture can teach us something. Yes, even you, LiLo.

Kyles Files congrats go out to Monique Spence.  The local entrepreneur (pictured below) has hustled her MJ Tribute Tees into the hands of celebs.  Check out the big news and more details after the jump...

This line of Redefine the Tee tee-shirts will be included in the swag bags of Sunday's MTV VMAs, according to Spence and her publicist .  The shirts-- which come in male and female shapes and sizes-- are also available in the ladies' long tee rocked so nicely by Miss Spence.

And we all know how celebs love the latest, so let's keep our eyes on La La land to see who (Heidi, LC, Fergie, Beyonce) will be the first to turn up in the ladies' long tee while the paps are watching.

Fingers crossed.

Want your own, so you can say celebs swagger jacked your style?  You can pick up the tees at Macy's on State Street or order them at http://www.mjtributetee.com.  A percentage of the proceeds from the sales go to benefit school music programs in Gary, IN, the town where MJ grew up, according to Spence.

Tee-rific.

Stay tuned for more photos...

I think these tribute Tee's are a great way to pay respects to a fallen World Icon. The glove is a fitting touch.

I absolutely LOVE my MJ Tee from Redefine The Tee. It's such a great tribute to Michael and to be donating part of the proceeds to Gary, IN for the music program is so fitting. I also have the "First Lady High" tee and the Obama tee from Redefine the tee as well. I Love Them. Keep up the great work Monique!

When Monique told me she had something special in honor of MJ, I knew it was gonna be unique and a "must have" in my t-shirt collection!!! I believe she has truly captured the symbolic essence of Michael by highlighting the glove! I LOVE IT!!! My wife does, too! Had to get one for her! Monique has done it.....AGAIN!

Congrats Monique on being one of the most creative entrepreneurs in Chi-Town. My MJ Tee from Redefine the Tee was a must have in my collection. The thing I most admire is that you are giving back and helping others. Keep up the ‘Spirit of Excellence’ in all you do – MAB.

This Tee should come with a disclaimer - "If you wear this tee, expect to get a LOT of attention!" I LOVE my tee, but apparently I'm not the only one because everytime I wear my tee, someone stops me and asks where I got it! Even when I changed my avi on twitter, people tweet me asking about my tee! Thanks for designing a great tee!

I must say that it has been a pleasure knowing you! Your drive, ambition, and tenacity towards reaching your goals and dreams are not only worthy of being respected and admired, they should be mirrored and honored as the prototype of how to make it happen! You and your company embody the essence of greatness, not of what it should be, but what it is. You are an inspiration to young business people everywhere, and your tees are HOT! Giving back is essential, and to do so is an example of great character and heart; you go girl!

Monique, the MJ Tribute Tees are an absolute hit! I've told you this many times but I will say it again, YOUR SHIRTS HAVE THE BEST FABRIC OF ANY TEE SHIRT I'VE EVER WORN. The designs are unique and your attention to detail places you in the top echelon of designers within Chicago. I look forward to seeing your next collection! - Adam W
