I am a KISS fan.
I am a KISS fan.
I am also a mother of three, workshop instructor, journalist
and blogger... but before I earned any of those other titles, I was a KISS fan.
I have been a KISS fan for almost 30 of my 35 years, and it's affected my life in the most incredible (and at times, unbelievable) ways. It's probably also one of the things that surprises people who know me professionally. When my KISS life crosses paths with my "normal" life, people typically react with surprise... "You? A KISS fan?"
Yes, I am. No matter what picture you may have in your head about the average KISS fan, I can tell you that we are everywhere, and we are many. We are professionals, parents, scout leaders, sports coaches and Sunday School teachers. And yes, through it all, we're KISS fans.
And, in my many years as a proud member of the KISS Army, I can tell you that there's truly never been a better time to be a fan than the present. The band recently kicked off its Alive 35 tour, has a phenomenal new album, "Sonic Boom," and is finally receiving mainstream recognition for what many of us knew long ago - they are living legends. Their career, spanning three decades, has made lasting impressions on music history and pop culture. They are American icons, and for many of us, who have literally grown up with the band, KISS is the soundtrack of our lives.
Yet, despite our unwavering devotion to the band, most KISS fans realize the rest of the world doesn't quite understand us..! In the weeks ahead, I'll share with you a myriad of reasons why this band has captured the attention of so many ... and why we, in turn, cannot imagine ever letting them go.
If you're already a KISS fan, there will be plenty for you to enjoy here too! Over the past fifteen years, I've been fortunate enough to follow the band around the country through numerous tours and events, even working for the band on various projects, and if you like those kinds of stories, you'll find them here as well.
