A Pro Bowl selection is not necessarily the best indicator of where a player should be ranked among his peers. But it certainly isn't a bad thing.
Jay Cutler has some stiff competition when it comes to the top quarterbacks in the NFC: Romo, McNabb, Warner, Brees, Rodgers and Manning to name a few.
Cutler likely doesn't have the weapons that some of the other QBs have. Larry Fitzgerald is not walking through that door. Earl Bennett may turn out to be a Derrick Mason-type go to receiver, and Devin Hester may run right by defenses to score on long bombs this year. Greg Olsen may be one of the best in the league. But on paper, the weapons at Cutler's disposal just don't compare to other NFC teams.
So what say you, Chicago?
