iPhone users: Studying iPhone users and whether or not they use their phones too much

Getting to know you - iPhone style

A few weeks ago, I did a completely non-scientific study to see if I could learn about a person based on their iPhone apps - specifically, the ones on the first screen.

Seems I'm not the only one conducting surveys and studying. Retrevo, which says it uses artificial intelligence to analyze and visually summarize more than 50 million real-time data points from across the web, tried to find out what makes iPhone users tick.

What it found is certainly interesting.

Educate me -- or don't

Retrevo asked, "What makes a person most attractive to you?" The response from iPhone owners is that they would rather have cool gadgets over a college degree any day -- actually, 3-1.

Would you really break up with a person via email or text? I wouldn't, but apparently this happens more than we think. 1 in 3 iPhone owners are guilty of this.

1 in 4 iPhone users has broken up with a significant other because they spent too much time on one. Wow.

Dial-up? Pentium III? Yeah, we're through

Judge a person by the gadgets they posess? Yep. 1 in 3 said that a partner with out-of-date gadgets is a turnoff.

Is that an iPhone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

1 in 5 -- big number, right? -- iPhone owners watch "adult material" on their iPhones. That's twice as many as BlackBerry owners.

Haha, my front page is pretty boring. It's mostly the defaults that came with the phone. I will say though that the apps I have placed in the revered silver row along the bottom are revealing. My four most used apps do NOT include the phone itself. LOL

I'm surprised that the "adult material" number isn't even bigger. Then again, another 1 in 5 could just be lying.
