Hello, sexy mouse!!
Apple introduces Magic Mouse -- the world's first multi-touch mouse. It was just a matter of time, I guess, but wow. It's basically everything that's wonderful about the iPhone and iPod touch and a multi-touch track pad on a laptop all put into a mouse.
Multi-Touch allows customers to navigate using intuitive finger gestures. Instead of mechanical buttons, scroll wheels or scroll balls, the entire top of the Magic Mouse is a seamless Multi-Touch surface.
And it costs $69. Oh, and it's bluetooth, so no wires.

I'm definitely buying me one of these. Considering it's the same price as the Mighty Mouse. Though do you know if this mouse has the squeeze button like the Mighty Mouse did? Because if not that's going to be a feature I will miss.

Wow! This is such cool technology. I always wondered when this sort of thing would hit the market. I will DEFINITELY get one.

This is an incredible thing - the photos are just incredible. It doesn't look anything like a mouse and that's why it's so Apple.
Ryan - it has no buttons, but with multi-touch I can't imagine that you won't be able to accomplish the same exact thing.

I looked more into it. No, this mouse does not have a squeeze button, though you're right, it could foreseeably be done via a gesture. However, the current software only has one and two-finger gestures, and fairly basic ones at that.
They may introduce new gestures as they go on, though. But I'm not buying one until there's one to summon Exposé.

Well, they got rid of the mini ball on top. That's a very good thing.
It looks uncomfortably small and low-profile, but I can't judge that fully just by looking at it. I'm a little worried about how many batteries that thing will go through in a typical year.

Well, I will say this Rob - yes, the mini ball being gone is an excellent thing. And battery life is always an issue, but knowing how often that little mini ball broke or got clogged, this could make for an excellent overall experience. Although you are right - if it's too small or too uncomfortable, that's a problem. Here's hoping. I look forward to putting it through its paces.

$70 for a mouse. PT Barnum was right.

Also, they can't call it a mouse if it has no tail. They should call it a hamster now or something.

I don't think anyone would use it if it was called a hamster.

Aha. New... Apple's Magic Hamster.
that made me laugh.

Too bad you can't actually walk into an Apple Store and buy one.
Ryan Kiefer said:
Yet. This thing will be available separately by the end of the month, for $69.
