Hi, everyone.

With the future of the blog up in the air I'd like to just remind you of 2 ways to get everything you'd normally get here.

1. Twitter. Follow me at @iptib. I'm on it all the time. I still answer questions and pass along all the good stuff. It's not a blog but it's still me.

2. Facebook. There's an iPTIB page that I try to check. And while I admit I do a poor job over there, there's places galore for you to comment so I'll be sure to check it.

Sadly, as we approach 2 years here, I never really anticipated the day where I'd be telling you that iptib may not have a home in the blogosphere.

I wish I had a definitive answer on the blog but because I know what my gut is telling me I'd prefer to take the party off site into the social media world and then reconnect down the road in another form.

Anyone out there who wants to chat with me regarding future endeavors, you know where to find me. iptib (at) mac (dot) com.

Thanks for calling.

Why don't you create a google blogspot page? Very easy to set up and maintain. Best of all it's free.

SCOTT'S REPLY: That's actually my goal, Deda. The real reason I don't just jump and do it is because of the time it takes. When I can do the blog here at my job and it's built into my day, I can do a lot. But when it becomes extra stuff that's not built in, well, sadly, there aren't enough hours to devote. And I'm a perfectionist. I can't see myself rushing through for the sake of a post just to post. I want it to be right and I want the blog to be a place where people enjoying going to. Thank you for the great idea and for your support.

Two years ago sitting on a dock in Maine I found your blog, sent one of the first photos, but I'm not worried. Besides we are both thinner and better looking on twitter!!

Now lets get this 3.0 thingy out so I can listen to my XM and watch baseball live!

SCOTT'S REPLY: Dave, to show the kind of blogger I am, I remember your first post and the photos. I appreciated that so much. And LOL - true although I did post a photo of myself on Twitter the other day.

I'll be here. I'm not actually going anywhere - I'm just moving around.

Thanks for your kindness.

Scott, I've totally enjoyed visiting iptib daily over the past 2 years. I always looked forward to your honest analysis of iPhone news/issues. You have a great writing style and I feel that it doesn't translate well to Twitter's 140 characters! If I had a vote, I keep your current format but just have it hosted on Typepad or Blogspot. That way we could keep reading the "real" Scott Kleinberg! Just my $0.02. Thanks for listening!

SCOTT'S REPLY: Scott, first of all, thank you for the kind words. Second, no, Twitter isn't a replacement, but it's a good temporary spot to stay in touch and up to date while I figure out the next move. My issue is that without the blog being built into my work day, finding the hours that it requires to reply to every comment and offer than analysis with my writing style becomes impossible. Nothing to do with not wanting to - believe me I do - it's literally about not having enough hours in the day. Sadly, I work about 12 hours a day so a large chunk of it is already gone. But I promise. I'm working on it. And please follow me on Twitter and keep track of what's going on so when I do launch something you'll be there and it will be like this blip never happened.

why are you shutting this down?

SCOTT'S REPLY: It's not my choice to shut it down ... the basic gist is that my parent company is switching to a new Web platform that focuses more on blogs with local appeal and my blog was deemed one that doesn't have that local appeal - more national and international.

So for now, I'm answering questions and staying active on Twitter and Facebook and then my goal is to hopefully start the blog up somewhere else down the road.

It's the best way to ensure that I can still be there when people have questions.

Thanks for your support. It's much appreciated.

Scott, I hope this all gets sorted soon. Twitter/Facebook just don't work for iPTIB! I understand the problems and I look forward to the solution - it'll be even better than before, I've no doubt, Scott.

ps Wordpress is quite good as a free blog option, too.

SCOTT'S REPLY: I have to wait for final clearance before making the decision, and I have no control over that. I promise that I'm doing the very best I can.
