ScreenIf you are a big proponent of a Chicago Olympics in 2016, there's a new iPhone app for you.

Chicago 2016 announced a new app today that shows a countdown to D-Day - that's decision day when the final decision on what city gets the games is made Oct. 2 in Copenhagen. Today is 150 days until the big event.

Each day, the free application provides a fun fact about Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic games, the Olympic movement or Olympic sports trivia.

The United States' representative has been big on the whole Web 2.0 initiative in general. In addition to being the first bid city to utilize YouTube and Twitter to push the bid, Chicago 2016 is also the first to launch an iPhone application.

As someone who lives in Chicago, I can tell you that there's a strong push here to get the Games. How cool would it be to see the Olympics in the city where you live?

You can download the Chicago 2016 app here.

Let me know what you think of it on Twitter.

Thanks for calling.
