A few apps worth checking out

WordpopI mentioned that I would utilize some of the app reviews from my friends at @iphoneappsin140 on Twitter, so I figured I'd start today with 5 that they recently posted.

I've tried all of these personally, so I can vouch for how cool they are. And I actually mentioned Topple once before.

Here's the list. The links open right up in iTunes for you.

TOPPLE: It's like Tetris, but with personality, great graphics and music. Even better - recently became free. Must have. http://bit.ly/Y7rx

iHANDY LEVEL FREE: Quite a few levels in the app store. This one is most accurate and pretty. And as title says, free. http://bit.ly/ziDA

PANDORA 2.0: Now my favorite Internet radio app. Cover flow style viewing, lyrics, personalized radio indeed. And free! http://bit.ly/fTGH

WORDPOP!: 1.99 til Jan. 20. Get it and get addicted. Clear the board to win. Harder than it sounds. http://bit.ly/zKqt

PIC SWIRL: .99. Neat idea. Swirl your photos via touch or blow into the microphone. http://bit.ly/VHza

The only thing is I wish is that WordPop! had a timer. It's a fantastic game, but it would be even better with a time limit.

Let me know what you think of these reviews and if you haven't yet followed @iphoneappsin140, I recommend it. I like the way they think when it comes to reviews. Tell 'em @iPTIB sent you.

Thanks for calling.

Can you really see lyrics on the new version of Pandora? If so how?

SCOTT'S REPLY: No, turns out I was told by @iphoneappsin140 that they were given incorrect info by Pandora and that's not currently supported on the iPhone.

Thank you for mentioning my game WordPop! and for the suggested timer feature. I will need to think how that would work into the game play. I can't wait to try Topple you mention above and thanks for the warning about Facebook.

SCOTT'S REPLY: Todd, I gotta tell ... I've had some second thoughts. I cannot stop playing WordPop! Yes, my wife and I like it that much. We're actually competing against each other -- she's better than me!!

There are a bunch of addictive word games. Yours is pretty darn top notch.

I played Topple based on your recommendation and found it to be really fun. Tetris has always been a favorite of mine and Toppled as a nice update to that concept.

SCOTT'S REPLY: The graphics are just cool.

I've also been playing Jetset the last couple of weeks. It's a pretty fun game. You get to play a TSA agent who can't let certain items through airport security. The illegal items change all the time, just like real life lol. You might want to check that out as well.

SCOTT'S REPLY: I think I remember seeing that over at my friends at @iphoneappsin140 on Twitter but I haven't gotten around to testing it. I heard good things and your recommendation will make me try it out even sooner.

Want a new game to try? Alphabetic. Not that new, but I just found it. I am hooked! $1.99 pro version, free lite to try.
