AND THE WINNER IS....
Bryan Vu!!
We had a contest to design a logo for our street team, The Advance Guard, and after pouring over TONS of submissions we've decided on Bryan's logo!
One More Step Towards Cyborgdom
Hiya, Packy here with an IFD tech update!
We just ordered a rather interesting unit from Musician's Friend, the Sonuus G2M. It converts your guitar signal to MIDI so you can use your guitar to play and control external synthesizers. We can interface guitars into Bill's control center as yet another MIDI controller.

Female Fans of IFD
A few weeks ago, I was looking at the Insight stats for IFD's facebook page and saw that 80% of our fans were male, and a mere 20% were female.
WTF?
...But She's Got A New Hat!
Hiya, Packy here.
Bill, Chad, and I spent the past week in Urbana, Illinois (Bill's and my old collegiate stomping grounds) re-mixing Cool Is Just A Number. We weren't remixing in the DJ/mixtape sense (although my friends Punky Fresh just made a groovy dance re-mix of Money you should check out) - we were making some tweaks and adjustments to the original EP mixes for the sake of improving their overall sonic awesomeness.

The Life of a Normal
I logged in to blog just now and it told me my last blog entry was Feb. 11. Terrible. Unacceptable.
Gearing up for tour and recording the album, for me, doesn't involve a lot of gearing up at all, really. Brian flies to LA or New York, writes some songs, sends them to us and we write our parts. Lately it's rare that I see the whole band in the same room. When I do see band, we're in Bill's basement and usually there are only a few of us there at a time. I'm starting to feel...normal.
Peg-Leg Flash
Hiya, Packy here.
Tomorrow, February 28, is my dad's birthday. He would have turned 62.
In honor of him I would like to share with you a childhood story I wrote a few years ago. I apologize if it's a bit long for your ADD internet-surfing tastes, but I thought I'd put it up here anyway.

Sacrificing Convention
We've signed with Photo Finish/ Atlantic Records. We going on a HUGE tour. It's been bubbling for a while now and now the metaphorical tea kettle of my life is whistling like crazy in the other room and to be honest, I'm avoiding it. What happens when you're at the brink of everything changing? How do you prepare for it? Can you?
DVD Mailing!
A week ago today we signed, packed, and stamped around 300(!) copies of the live DVD from our July Metro show. Here's a glimpse behind that scene.
A Childhood Merger Come True
Heyo, Packy here. As you probably know, IFD has just signed with
Atlantic Records! This is a colossal step forward in the band's path toward
world domination, and we are SUPER excited to take this ridiculous 8-bit operation to the next level. But I think it should be known that
this isn't the first time I have worked with Atlantic Records...
Be There's None.
Following suit from my bandmates, I decided to post something incriminating from my childhood. Ok, I went more "cute" than "incriminating," but I hope you enjoy it.
A Big Step Forward
Hi guys, Brian here.
So today we share some big news. If you've been reading our emails / blogs / twitter lately, you've probably been suspicious as to this 'secret announcement' we keep alluding to. Well the time has come, but I feel the need to explain first.
Mario's Underwater Blues
Hi friends, Packy here. I had a quiet Sunday to myself, which was very nice after a weekend of playing 2 rather loud non-IFD gigs (both of them benefit shows for Haiti relief and a girls' school in Kenya). I spent the day getting re-acquainted with my slide guitar playing and studying slide master Derek Trucks. After surviving the initial Derek-Trucks-Is-So-Good-I-Might-As-Well-Quit-Music-Now phase, I got to playing and came up with another NES cover for ya.
Memories
I was just reminiscing about all the gigs we've done since last summer until now, and thought I'd post a short compilation of pictures I've published spanning from Metro last July to our Denver show last December. My favs!
Weapons of a Dragon Fighter
Hey, Packy here. Now how the hell am I supposed to follow up Laura's awesome, insightful, inspirational blog post from Thursday? I feel like the little Italian mouse puppet Topo Gigio following the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. Thanks, Laura. Thanks a lot.
Well I don't have too much to say this week, so I think I'll talk about my gear for a bit. I know some might not be so interested in this instrumental esoterica, but maybe some young kid out there will read this and feel inspired to go out there and capture that elusive "Packy sound." Har, har!

The Girl in the Band.
I'm a lady. We'll, I can imagine by some people's standards I'm FAR from being a lady seeing how I drink beer, swear like a truck driver, and burp louder than the boys. But regardless of my poor manners, I am a woman. Female. Girl. Chick. Whatever. I've been one for 24.5 years. I'm also in a band full of guys. That, I guess, makes me the girl in the band.

IFD Fans Rock!
In case you didn't see it on our Facebook page, here's a link to Steven Albano's YouTube vid of him playing along to The Faster the Treadmill on bass!
I'm living in the future... and the past... my head hurts...
So I've had a pretty fun day today. I got to fly out to California, because Tony Van Veen (president of discmakers!) brought me out here to speak on a panel at NAMM. with some pretty awesome indie music biz folks. Michael Laskow (president of TAXI), Bob Baker, Ariel Hyatt, suffice it to say I'm kind of blown away at the honor to speak on this panel.
NAMM happens to be the Music Retailers convention, so I also get to spend a lot of time geeking out over the latest in music tech. Spent half an hour drooling over Celemony's new Polyphonic Melodyne. Mmmmmm.... melodelicious...
However, American Airlines chose to re-route my flight so that I spent most of the day traveling. No worries! It just so happened I spent all day on planes playing one of my favorite old Adventure Games... Day of the Tentacle!! This one was a LucasArts classic, and probably my second favorite game behind Monkey Island, and just in front of King's Quest 6.
Also I did a bit of chiptune programming for a new song on the full album called "Semper Fi." Gonna be sweet :)
So here's a slideshow of my day, in which I use the crazy microtechnologies of today to entertain myself using the software of yesteryear:
Recording Begins! (kinda)
Hola Muchachos! Laura here.
Last night, instead of our usual practice, IFD decided to start preparing for our upcoming full length album. My personal involvement in the recording process doesn't come until later (you know, harmonies and what not,) so I took this opportunity to get out my old camera and document this momentous event.
Downtime Part 2
Hey everyone! So we've had some time off lately but are gearing back up to regular practice schedules and recording some new tunes. While I don't have much band related stuff to share at the moment, I did have a pretty active weekend on my downtime.
Arch Rivals Remix (It's a Basket BRAWL!)
Having seen Bill take an embarrassing look back on his early works, I thought I would share a look back with you too, though not nearly as far back, and hopefully not nearly as embarrassing.
Holiday Gifts from Amazing Fans!
So we Dragon Fighters have been on a bit of a break for the holidays, but we've now gotten back together to start practicing and recording.
First things first of course: We opened our Holiday Gifts from Amazing fans!!!! Here's a slideshow of some of the awesome stuff we got:
In my "no tour" time....
Hi everyone! Laura here.
We've been home from tour for 6 weeks now, and I feel as if I've re-entered my old life again as much as I can. I'm so immersed in my day job waiting tables, my morning job teaching spinning classes, and my human job trying to maintain and cultivate the relationships I have with my family and friends that tour seems as if it were a dream. It feels almost like it never happened at all.
I guess that's why we're all itching to go back out again.
Early Works Part II
It's that time again folks to take an embarrassing look back at one of my earliest recordings.
