2010 Grammys Videos & Recap

Drake, Eminem, & Lil' Wayne "Drop The World" x "Forever"

UPDATE: "Drop The World" x "Forever" updated above with better quality.

The 2010 Grammy Awards took place last night on CBS and the hip hop world made their mark in the performances. Maybe the best performance of the night (we're not entirely sure since CBS put so much of it on mute) was Eminem & Lil' Wayne performing "Drop The World" who were then joined by Drake for "Forever". No Kanye at the Grammys (for obvious, speculative reasons) but Travis Barker was on drums for the performance. To be frank, Drake & Wayne didn't possess the flow I expected live after hearing the studio quality records. On top of that though, Eminem didn't miss a word and straight up killed it. Definitely a very powerful performance given the star power all on one stage.

The rest of the performances continue below and after the jump with a touching Michael Jackson tribute from five iconic singers: Usher, Smokey Robinson, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson. Also included is a very creative and lively performance from Lady Gaga & Elton John as well as more featuring Jamie Foxx & T-Pain, Beyonce, Maxwell, Mary J. Blige, and The Black Eyed Peas (shouts 2 Yardie on the rips who has even more).

As for the winners, hip hop was not as well-represented in the broader scope of the award show (no nominations in Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Best New Artist) but there were some notable victories.

Best Rap Album: Eminem 'Relapse'
Best Rap Solo Performance: Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)"
Best Rap Song: Jay-Z "Run This Town" f/ Kanye West & Rihanna
Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group: Eminem, Dr. Dre, & 50 Cent "Crack A Bottle"
Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: Jay-Z "Run This Town" f/ Kanye West & Rihanna

As far as R&B goes, personal favorites Trey Songz & Melanie Fiona came up empty handed with their nominations. The favorites took home the trophies throughout the night, except for Taylor Swift who beat Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and The Black Eyed Peas for Album of the Year. Definitely thought Gaga would win with all those singles. Anyway, for the full list of winners, click here. Enjoy!
