The Daft Punk TRON: Legacy album was an instant favorite - a complete and epic journey from beginning to end. And it was all done sonically - the only words the album featured was a couple of quotables from the movie itself. In the midst of initially digesting the album, I couldn't help but think: would rap over some of this sound dope? I initially had my doubts, but fast forward a couple months to now, as Mickey Factz squashes that doubt with "Distressed" over the album's main single "Derezzed". Admittedly, this took a few listens to get used to. The first few bars didn't sound as natural as I thought it could at first, but Mickey wasted little time getting into a groove that I was vibing with. As the song gets going, there are times throughout the rendition where he rides the beat as smoothly as Daft Punk riding on the grid in the video itself. Namely, starting with the "you can't jump me, this ain't checkers" line through to the allusions to Twitter, and then my favorite part: the last 15 seconds of the record when the beat picks back up and Factz concludes the song with the dope punchline, "like a canceled sitcom, the camera's off..!". So, give this one a good listen above and see how you feel about rapping over Daft Punk's TRON album. As Factz proves to me, this is something I'd co-sign, but only if it's well-executed like above.

Down below lies just a couple of quick-hit videos featuring more on Mickey Factz with the trailer for his upcoming, new webisode series 'Nothing But The Factz' and lastly, Consequence breaking down the drama between himself and Pusha T over the release of "My God". Enjoy!
