I had been vibing with the preview of "Poison" S-Preme gave us on the set of the upcoming "Spitfire" video (that Maks G is directing) and now the time has come for the masses to hear for themselves. "Poison" appealed to me initially because I liked this Prodigy record/sample a lot (and a little bit more than "Spitfire"), but the thought-provoking lyrics from 'Preme are what really drives this one home for me. From the start of the first verse, S-Preme comments on the idea of fitting in, selling out, and how "money's become master", as he states on the end of the last verse... and that's just a general sense of the topics covered as 'Preme also gets political in the outro. The first verse especially is one of S-Preme's best yet and the 'poison/remedy' sample/duality that acts as a pseudo-chorus is the perfect match that probably helped inspire the provocative perspective that 'Preme paints for us. He continues to grow lyrically with this deep insight on society and use of metaphors that are delivered well with a succinct flow. "Poison" also happens to bang through your speakers for a high-octane listen that I expect to continue to hear on S-Prodigy when the full FreEP comes out this Wednesday!

Down below, a trio of tracks continue another batch of new downloads - this one not having much to do with hip hop than the previous one. That said, you can download some new Mr. Robotic as the upcoming Chicago artist takes on another nice pop production from Slot-A with the addition of The Killers (is it a sample? I'm not up on my Killers). B.o.B also hops on a new song from UK singer/songwriter Jesse J and R&B singer Auburn cranks out one that the ladies will probably like, produced by J.R. Rotem. Enjoy!
