When I said earlier today that "You Got It" f/ Wale was the last leak off of J. Cole's Friday Night Lights... I lied. Here goes the much-anticipated collab with Drake called "In The Morning". The song finds the two rappers that many consider the future of hip hop rhyming about  their female interest as J. Cole (oh so classily) puts it on the chorus, "can I hit it in the morning?". The fellas seduce the ladies in their verses - the strongest part about the record. J. Cole, then Drake, then a second serving of J. Cole is the structure. Both artists drop some clever ways of saying they are the best for them as well as expressing their morning desires. I was diggin' J. Cole's verses more than Drake's, but I think it was more to do with my notion that Drake sounded sick or that he had to clear his throat, moreso than the words. I wouldn't be surprised if Drake delivered the verse like that on purpose, but either way I am not feelin' the delivery, at least at first - maybe it'll grow on me over time. All in all though, "In The Morning" is the type of record specifically for the ladies, but also for everyone to vibe with, bolstered by a dope, well-complimenting beat from newcomers L&X Music.
