*GWHH PREMIERE*
Oh hi there Stacey Dash! Nique uses the iconic model for the eyebrow-raising cover art for the new single "So Many Girls" f/ Mr. Music - a *GWHH PREMIERE* now available for download above. This past summer, Nique asked us about connecting him with Mr. Music for a track for his upcoming mixtape, X.XIII. Fast forward to now, and sure enough, they worked together for the hot collaboration that I'm proud to see come to fruition - a Vegas/Chicago connection! The simple, upbeat production sets the tone for the song, which is more obviously carried out by a fun and addicting hook from Mr. Music right off the bat. Nique then showcases some versatility by maintaining his usual fast-pace over more of a poppy sound than his fans may be accustomed to. It definitely works as Nique's clever double meanings are perfect for the song's various lady-centric raps. Keep your ear on the ball and you'll also catch a few lines in each verse that inspire a chuckle: namely for me, the beginning of Nique's first verse and the well-delivered and executed dialogue with a woman on the third verse. And again, you have to give it up to Mr. Music who vocally kills a chorus that is catchy throughout - from the beginning's 'so many girls' to the 'yeah yeah yeah', the 'no no no', and the unique post-chorus. You'll come back for the chance to sing along again and stay to catch more witty lines from Nique that you didn't the first time. Needless to say, check this one out above, in addition to the mixtape's first single "Boom Bap", all off the upcoming GWHH-sponsored X.XIII - to be released on October 13th.
Down below, the next two favs from Chicago's JDP and Joe Budden have an awesome dark mood that allows for the lyrics to shine even more. Budden moreso than JDP, but that's kind of expected since Budden gets real emotional on the nearly 6 minute "Black Cloud". Back to JDP, "Don't Wake Me" actually has a beginning that blends surprisingly well after "So Many Girls" above, so download these three tracks and listen to them in that order. JDP has some lines that are a little questionable, but for the most part I vibe with the picture painting in the verses and the powerful sound of the hook that matches the production. Rounding out the downloads is the newest mixtape from Joell Ortiz, freestyles from Donnis and Nipsey Hussle (the latter over "Runaway" - Kanye's original now available on iTunes!) and R-Les droppin' some rhymes on a feature with Austrailian model Cheyenne Tozzi (shouts 2 GG). Enjoy!
