Fiasco Friday hits Chicago

Many hip hop fans, and Lupe Fiasco fans especially, are already aware of the organized, non-violent protest that will be taking place outside of the Atlantic Records offices in NYC on October 15th dubbed Fiasco Friday. The goal is to show the unity and the demand for Lupe's currently shelved album, Lasers, and receive some sort of answer from Atlantic on when it will be released. Now, unfortunately for Lu's hometown fans, they won't be able to partake in the protest unless they make the trip to NYC... until now. The Fiasco Friday movement is now organized in Chicago - permits secured and Buckingham Fountain is the meeting place. Kind of crazy, no? From what I can gather, Chicago's Fiasco Friday is already receiving a poppin' response on Facebook and it looks like there will already be a good crowd of protestors. Get all the low-down at fiascofridaychicago.blogspot.com and RSVP in both places if you intend on going!

Shouts to Dan Winchester who is spearheading Fiasco Friday: Chicago and Matthew La Corte for starting Fiasco Friday a couple of weeks ago. This news story has more on La Corte and in one last link: Lupe Fiasco tweets about a classic tactic.
